Breast Cancer Resources in Jackson Hole

St. John’s Health takes a comprehensive approach to women’s health issues, including breast health. From prevention and screening to treatment and survivorship, St. John’s Health is here for you. We offer a variety of health care options to detect, treat, and help patients beat breast cancer.

Diagnostic Imaging

Following American Cancer Society guidelines, St. John’s Health recommends a yearly mammogram for all women, starting at age 40. St. John’s Health is certified by the American College of Radiology as a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence, the only hospital in the region to earn this distinction.

  • Our board-certified radiologists provide comprehensive breast services, integrating 3-D computer-aided mammography and ultrasound for the highest quality care
  • You will experience a cushioning system for a softer mammogram
  • We offer ultrasound, stereotactic, and MRI-guided breast biopsies, as well as sentinel node mapping

Cancer Care and Infusion Services

St. John’s Health offers a full time board certified oncologist on site. Additionally, our nationally-certified oncology nurse practitioners and chemotherapy/biotherapy certified oncology nurses provide daily care, infusions, and procedures. Each patient has an individualized treatment plan coordinated with diagnostic imaging, medical and radiation oncology, and plastic surgery.

Your cancer care treatment might also include:

  • A full time board-certified oncologist on-site
  • A Tumor Board comprised of multi-disciplinary providers ensures high-quality management of your cancer treatments
  • Individualized treatment plans
  • Brachytherapy services and follow-up visits for radiology treatment
  • St. John’s own board-certified pathologist

Cancer Survivorship Program

People who have completed or who are undergoing cancer treatment are eligible for free survivorship services. This program aims to help survivors and their loved ones heal from the challenges that can result from cancer and its treatments.

Survivorship services for patients, caregivers, and family members include:

  • Yoga
  • Healing touch
  • Massage therapy
  • Wellness coaching and mindfulness tools
  • Physical, occupational, and speech therapy
  • Spiritual direction
  • Acupuncture
  • Nutrition services
  • Oncology support group

Breast Surgery

Our board-certified general surgeons provide evaluations and treatment, including skin-sparing/nipple-sparing mastectomy, along with breast-conserving therapy.

  • Surgical options include sentinel lymph node biopsy and oncoplastic resections, as well as prophylactic mastectomy for patients who have the BRCA gene mutation.
