Author and mindfulness pioneer Joseph Goldstein will present "Cultivating
Mindfulness in Your Daily Life" at Spring Creek Ranch on Tuesday,
October 6 at 7 pm.
The benefits of mindfulness have been making headlines as ways to focus,
de-stress, and even improve business performance.
"We are delighted to have Joseph Goldstein speak to our community
about this powerful topic. His presence complements the themes raised
by many of our other Words on Wellness speakers," said St. John's
Medical Center CEO Lou Hochheiser, MD. "It's an honor to have
someone of his stature here."
In his presentation, Joseph Goldstein will explore the many ways one can
develop a daily mindfulness practice and demonstrate how it can offer
a clear and straightforward way of understanding ourselves and the world
A pioneer of insight meditation in the West, Goldstein cofounded the Insight
Meditation Society in Barre, Massachusetts, in 1975. Since then, he has
taught retreats worldwide on Insight (Vipassana) and Loving Kindness Meditation.
Goldstein is the author of numerous books, including “Mindfulness:
A Practical Guide to Awakening,” “One Dharma,” “Transforming
the Mind, Healing the World,” and “Seeking the Heart of Wisdom”
(co-authored with Jack Kornfield).
Tickets to the talk are free. They are available at St. John's Medical
Center Wellness Department, or by calling 307 739 7244 to reserve a ticket
for "will call" at Spring Creek Ranch.
Goldstein is in Jackson to co-teach a week long Vipassana Buddhist Retreat

Medical Center's Words on Wellness speaker series, which presents

and wellness topics. Words on Wellness is sponsored in part by the St.
