Jackson Hole Robotic Gynecologic Surgery

The Future of Surgery Is Here

At St. John’s Health, gynecologic surgeons are highly skilled in robotic surgery using da Vinci technology that enables minimally invasive procedures. Gynecologic robotic surgery is a minimally invasive breakthrough that allows surgeons to treat several conditions affecting the female reproductive system.

During the operation, the surgeon sits by the patient at a console and operates using tiny, fully-wristed instruments. A surgical camera shows high-definition, 3D magnified views inside the body as the surgeon’s hand motions are translated in real time to bend and rotate the instruments precisely.

We treat the following conditions with gynecologic robotic surgery:

  • Endometriosis resection: This procedure removes abnormal growths in the pelvic area while leaving the uterus and other pelvic organs in place.
  • Benign hysterectomy: Gynecologic surgeons remove the patient’s uterus through a few small incisions or just one incision in the navel using da Vinci technology called Single-Site®. The uterus can be removed either through the vagina or through the incision near the belly button.
  • Myomectomy: This surgery removes uterine fibroids while leaving the uterus intact. Surgeons perform the robot-assisted myomectomy using da Vinci technology.

Contact your gynecologist to discuss if robotic surgery is right for you.
