Biography
Dr. Albert R. Wheeler III (AJ) has served the Jackson community for more than two decades as a board-certified emergency medicine physician at St. John’s Health. Beginning in January 2026, he joins the St. John’s Health Foundation Board as an ex-officio member in his role as Chief of Medical Staff.
A graduate of The Ohio State University College of Medicine, Dr. Wheeler completed both his internship and residency in Emergency Medicine at Froedtert Memorial Lutheran Hospital. He earned certification from the American Board of Emergency Medicine in 2006 and continues to advance high-quality, patient-centered emergency care.
Throughout his tenure, Dr. Wheeler has been recognized for his leadership in clinical excellence, his commitment to supporting care teams, and his dedication to ensuring timely, compassionate treatment for patients and families. His perspective as a long-serving emergency physician brings invaluable insight to the Foundation’s mission and to the broader vision for sustaining exceptional, independent healthcare in Jackson Hole.
AJ has served as a Director of St. John’s Health Foundation since 2026.
