Biography
Bill’s business background is in finance: he earned a BA in Management Science and German Literature cum laude from Duke University and an MBA from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business. He spent 18 years working for JP Morgan as an investment banker in New York, London, and Chicago before leaving to work as a CFO for one of his clients in Seattle. He retired in 2000 and since then has been actively investing in small private companies.
Bill is a board member and chair of Kratos Defense & Security, a NASDAQ quoted company. He also serves as chair of SAFE Boats International, a leading private manufacturer of vessels for the military, law enforcement and industry. He is also a Director of Bridger Trust, a Wyoming Trust Company and serves on its audit committee.
In addition to being actively involved philanthropically, Bill served on the board of the Community Foundation of Jackson Hole for 11 years and was its Chair for two years. He was one of the founding members of the Teton County Search & Rescue Foundation, who served on its board, and was its Chair for two years. He has also served on the board of the Teton Literacy Center.
Bill and his wife Lannie have lived full-time in Jackson for almost 20 years. Together, they have three adult children and six grandchildren. With his family, Bill enjoys skiing, biking, hiking, and traveling.
Bill has served as a Director of St. John’s Health Foundation since 2025.
