Evan Jones

Biography

Mr. Jones has more than 30 years of experience as an entrepreneur and investor in the life sciences industry. He spent his career leading innovations in diagnostic testing and cancer screening, helping to pioneer the use of DNA testing and genomics to improve patient care. Mr. Jones is Managing Member of jVen Capital, LLC, a life  sciences investment company. He serves on the Board of Directors for Veracyte, Inc (Nasdaq:VCYT), a leading global diagnostics company for cancer testing, Protagene GmbH, and Brightside Health. Prior to forming jVen Capital, he was cofounder, Chairman and CEO of Digene Corporation, a publicly traded biotechnology company focused on women’s health and molecular diagnostic testing.

Through his community service and philanthropy, Mr. Jones has helped improve health care for children and increased investment in disease control, prevention and biomedical research. He served on the Board of Trustees for St. John’s Health from 2022 to 2024. He was a Board member and Vice Chairman of the Board for the Children’s National Hospital, Washington, DC and Board Chairman for the Children’s Research Institute. He was founding Chairman of the Campaign for Public Health Foundation, an organization dedicated to making public health and prevention a higher national priority and he served  on the Board of Directors of the American College of Medical Genetics Foundation. Mr. Jones is a member of the Advisory Board for the BioFrontiers Institute at the University of Colorado.

Mr. Jones has a B.A. degree from the University of Colorado and an M.B.A. from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. Evan and his wife Cindy enjoy skiing, hiking, biking, sailing and golf.

Mr. Jones has served as a Director of St. John’s Health Foundation since 2025.
