Cancer Center Campaign

Closer to home. Closer to you.

The Reality

Today, many patients in our community must leave Jackson to receive critical cancer treatment.

  • 84% of patients needing radiation therapy travel out of the area
  • Treatment often requires daily visits for weeks or months
  • Travel adds emotional, physical, and financial strain during an already difficult time

The Solution

St. John’s Health is planning a new cancer center that brings radiation oncology services to our community—ensuring patients can receive comprehensive care close to home, surrounded by the people and support systems they know.

A Philanthropic Opportunity

This project is intended to be fully funded through philanthropy—a first for St. John’s Health.

With unanimous Board support, St. John’s Health Foundation has established a $25 million fundraising goal, ensuring the project can move forward without incurring debt and be positioned for long-term success.

Early commitments from all Board members and staff reflect a meaningful commitment to this vision. As the campaign continues, community support will play a vital role in bringing life-saving cancer care closer to home while strengthening the independence of our local healthcare system.

When approximately 80% of commitments are secured, we will be positioned to move forward with the project, pending final approval by the St. John’s Health Board of Trustees.
