How Adaptive Skiing and Donor Support Brought a Sage Living Resident’s Dream to Life

For Sage Living resident Kay Van Holland, a day on the slopes at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort was more than a ski outing—it was a return to a lifelong passion she hadn’t experienced in decades.

Made possible by St. John’s Health Foundation’s Life Enrichment Fund, in partnership with Teton Adaptive and Teton Physical Therapy & Rehabilitation, the experience gave Kay a renewed sense of freedom. Using a ski slider for balance, she confidently made her way down the mountain, cheered on by instructors and friends.

“Opportunities like this go far beyond physical movement—they improve personal well-being and elevate the collective well-being,” said Amber Mouton, Sage Living Life Enrichment Manager.

Thanks to donor support, the Life Enrichment Fund brings joy, creativity, and adventure to Sage Living residents through experiences like skiing, painting, music therapy, and intergenerational programming with young people in our community. These moments offer more than enjoyment—they foster dignity, confidence, and connection.
