About Ross
Dr. Ross Butschek is a board-certified cardiologist with St. John's Health Cardiology, specializing in heart failure, cardiomyopathies, genetic heart conditions, and preventive cardiology. He cares for a wide range of patients, from those managing cardiovascular disease or conditions like cancer that affect the heart, to women whose pregnancies need extra cardiac attention, to anyone looking for proactive ways to stay well.
Because family history is often the biggest predictor of heart disease, Dr. Butschek looks beyond the patient in front of him. His care can include genetic testing, screening, and encouraging relatives to get checked, and he sees himself as an advocate for both his patients and their families.
Dr. Butschek earned his medical degree from Wake Forest University School of Medicine and completed his residency at Carolinas Medical Center. He went on to train in cardiology at the Medical University of South Carolina and in advanced heart failure and transplant cardiology at the University of Utah Medical Center.
Outside of work, he stays busy with his three young children and enjoys fishing, hiking, mountain biking, and exploring the Tetons with his family and dogs.
