Concussion and traumatic brain injury support group to begin at St. John's Health; Eight-week Grief Group begins June 4

A new support group for those who have experienced a concussion or traumatic brain injury (TBI) begins on Tuesday, May 28. The group will discuss life with a concussion/TBI, learn the latest from professionals who serve people with brain injuries, and connect individuals to share experiences, strategies, and successes.

The group is co-facilitated by Oliver Goss, LCSW, St. John’s Home Health & Hospice social worker, and Chris Smithwick, MA, CCC-SLP, Speech-language pathologist at Teton Physical Therapy & Rehabilitation.

“If you have had any type of brain injury, this group might be for you,” said Goss. “The goal is to provide support to those who may be suffering in silence. There are steps to take to lessen the effects of these injuries.”

The free and confidential group meets on the 4th Tuesday of the month, 4–5 pm, in the Wellness Flex Room. For more information, including what happens in the group and who may be appropriate to attend, call 307.739.7463.
