US News & World Report again names St. John’s Living Center a “Best Nursing Home”

St. John’s Living Center has been recognized as a Best Nursing Home for 2020-21 by U.S. News & World Report for the second consecutive year. The Living Center earned the highest possible rating, “High Performing,” for both short-term rehabilitation and long-term care. It is one of fewer than 5% of nursing homes in the country to earn this distinction.

“We are extremely proud of our team at the Living Center, particularly acknowledging the measures they have taken to provide care during this pandemic,” said Marsha Sensat, MSN, interim administrator of senior living. “Our staff delivers an exemplary level of overall care and programming for our residents, which we look forward to continuing to provide when we move into Sage Living, our new senior care facility, next summer.”

Best Nursing Homes 2020-2021 AwardsU.S. News gives the designation of Best Nursing Home only to those homes that satisfy U.S. News’s assessment of the appropriate use of key services and consistent performance in quality measures that greatly impact patient and resident care, safety, and outcomes. This year, nursing home profile pages include a patient safety summary that reflects COVID-19 data.

The Long-Term Care Rating includes data on staffing and success in preventing ER visits, among other metrics. The short-term rating incorporates measures of quality including consistency of registered nurse staffing and success in preventing falls.

Now in its 11th year, the U.S. News Best Nursing Homes ratings and profiles offer comprehensive information about care, safety, health inspections, staffing, and more for nearly all of the nation’s 15,000-plus nursing homes.
