New joint replacement surgeon at St. John’s Health

St. John’s Health is pleased to welcome Drew Lighthart, MD, to the joint replacement program, where he serves as medical director.

“Having Dr. Lighthart on the joint replacement team provides an essential service to our community,” said Jaime Jackson, BSN, RN, ONC, manager of the Joint & Spine Center at St. John’s Health. “With over 15 years of experience, Dr. Lighthart has performed thousands of joint replacements, and his specialization in minimally invasive techniques and partial knee replacements help round out our program.”

The emphasis of Dr. Lighthart’s practice is on hip and knee joint replacements using minimally invasive techniques, hip arthroscopy, and complex joint replacement revisions.

Most recently, he served as a surgeon at Rutland Regional Medical Center in Vermont.

Dr. Lighthart received his MD at SUNY-Buffalo School of Medicine and completed his residencies at Union Memorial Hospital, Johns Hopkins, and Shock Trauma at University of Maryland. He completed his fellowship training in reconstructive surgery of the hip and knee at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago. He is a skier, snowboarder, fly fisherman, and former NCAA collegiate football player.
