St. John’s Health Appoints Jones as Trustee

(Jackson, WY) – The St. John's Health Board of Trustees appointed Evan Jones as Trustee on January 26, 2023, filling a vacancy created by the unexpected passing of Trustee Lou Hochheiser, MD. “St. John’s Health and the entire community will benefit greatly from Evan’s deep knowledge and experience,” said Board Chair Katharine Conover-Keller.

During his interview for the appointment, Jones said that he would make it a priority to carry forward some of the priorities upon which Dr. Lou Hochheiser successfully campaigned for Trustee, particularly mental health and senior care.

Evan Jones has more than 30 years of senior management and investment experience in the life sciences and healthcare industry. He founded or helped start a number of companies and has extensive board leadership of hospitals and health advocacy organizations.

Jones was Vice Chairman of the Board for the Children’s National Hospital, Washington, DC and Board Chairman for the Children’s Research Institute. He was founding Chairman of the Campaign for Public Health Foundation, an organization dedicated to making public health and prevention a higher priority. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the American College of Medical Genetics Foundation and the Advisory Board or the BioFrontiers Institute at the University of Colorado.

Jones spent much of his career as a CEO and investor leading innovations in diagnostic testing and cancer screening, helping to pioneer the use of DNA testing and genomics to improve patient care. Through his community service and philanthropy, he has helped improve health care for children and increase investment in disease control, prevention, and biomedical research. He has a B.A. from the University of Colorado and an M.B.A. from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.

Jones joined St. John’s Health as a Board Advisor in January 2022. He was Co-Chair of the St. John’s Health CEO Search Committee that recruited current CEO Jeff Sollis. He was named as a Trustee in May 2022, served as Vice Chair, and ran in the 2022 General Election, where he received 2,400 votes. His term will run until the next Trustee general election in November 2024.
