Uplift Retreat: Nordic Tour

  • Categories: Cancer Care

About This Event

Join EcoTour Adventures, St. John’s Health, and Grand Adventure for a winter experience on Saturday April 7. We will meet at the Home Ranch Lot at 9 a.m. to load into vans and we will return to the lot by 2 p.m. Choose from two different options/ways to experience the magic of winter in the park. One van will be vehicle-based wildlife tour. One van will be for cross-country skiers. After each van’s morning adventure, we will meet at the Jackson Lake Lodge to share our experiences over a lunch generously provided by Teton Lunch Counter.

  • If you choose the vehicle-based wildlife tour, you will spend the day exploring the winter habitats of thousands of animals taking refuge in the Jackson Hole valley. Traveling in heated 4x4 safari style vehicles you will visit the top wildlife hotspots of Grand Teton National Park and the National Elk Refuge, searching for moose, elk, bison, bighorn sheep, mule deer, wolves, bald eagles, trumpeter swans, and more. Experience the unique and harsh conditions that local wildlife must endure, acquiring a deep understanding of how these creatures coexist and adapt to their physical environments.
  • If you choose to cross-country ski, you will have the opportunity to learn basic nordic skiing skills while taking a tour through Grand Teton National Park with an expert naturalist. This type of tour will focus on taking advantage of teaching moments to learn about cross-country skiing technique and winter ecology. We'll have plenty of time to stop and take photos and we'll be moving at a pace where you can easily hold a conversation with friends.

Pick-up at the Home Ranch parking lot at 9:00 AM
