Learn to use your brain to help manage your pain in this free 5 week class.

Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6:00 to 7:00 pm

May 12–June 11 (5 weeks total)

No Charge!

Research shows that changing how we think about pain can help reduce pain and change brain structures. This free class is open to anyone with chronic pain who wants to learn new skills to improve their quality of life.

Learn skills to manage your pain. The group setting provides opportunities to learn how others deal with their pain and to meet those who understand your situation.

Topics include:

  • Understanding different models and theories of pain
  • Managing the effects of stress on pain
  • Incorporating techniques like deep breathing, progressive relaxation, and distraction
  • Communicating with family, friends, and professionals
  • Using sleep, nutrition, and medications
  • Pacing, scheduling, and knowing your values
  • Increasing activity levels
