5 Stars again awarded to St. John's Living Center

5 Stars again awarded to St. John's Living Center

In its most recent round of nursing home ratings, the Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services (CMS) again awarded an overall rating of Five Stars to St. John’s Living Center. Even more exceptional was that the Living Center also received Five Stars in each of the domains that make up the overall rating—health inspections, quality measures, and staffing—an achievement that it has maintained since the fall of 2017.

Beginning with its April 2019 ratings, CMS increased the rigor of its rating system.

“We are pleased to continue to receive Five Stars across the board, even with CMS raising the thresholds in quality measures and staffing,” said St. John’s CEO Paul Beaupré, MD. “The Five Star award is validation of the consistent quality of care at a high level and the commitment to excellence that the team at the Living Center embodies.”

“Once again, this rating is a testament to the commitment St. John’s has to provide quality senior services in a loving and caring environment,” said Malenda Hoelscher, executive director of senior living. “We look forward to continuing this commitment in our new community, Sage Living, scheduled to break ground this summer.”

In February, US News & World Report named St. John’s Living Center as a “Best Nursing Home” for 2018-2019. St. John’s Living Center is in the top 5% of all 15,000 nursing homes in the country, having earned the highest ratings in the subcategories that make up the overall rating.
