We’re excited to introduce Dr. Leah Fortson, the first adult psychiatrist to join St. John's Health's medical group!
Dr. Fortson provides comprehensive psychiatric evaluation and medication management for adults 18 and older.
A graduate of Tufts University School of Medicine, Dr. Fortson completed her psychiatry residency through the University of Utah's Rural Idaho Track, a program specifically designed to prepare psychiatrists for rural communities like ours.
Raised in Anchorage, Alaska, Dr. Fortson has always been drawn to mountain communities. As an avid trail runner, backcountry skier, kayaker, and mountaineer, she brings both clinical expertise and a deep understanding of the lifestyle and challenges unique to our region.
Dr. Fortson is now accepting new patients at St. John's Health Psychiatry. To schedule an appointment, please call 307-739-4818.
Dr. Fortson's arrival marks an exciting milestone in expanding local access to psychiatric care, made possible through donations to St. John's Health Foundation, including a grant from the Community Foundation of Jackson Hole. These gifts will underwrite the adult psychiatry services for three years. During that timeframe the Foundation has a goal of building a $10 million endowment for sustaining the cost of delivering behavioral health services, including psychiatry.
