Your Colonoscopy Prep

Please follow these instructions from St. John's Health on how to prepare your bowels for a colonoscopy procedure.

Please follow the instructions written below, NOT the instructions on the SuPrep box from your pharmacy, as they differ from each other.

If your procedure is BEFORE 10:30 AM:

4:30 pm, take 1 Zofran tablet (optional).
5:00 pm, pour one bottle of solution into the mixing container. Add cold water to the 16-ounce line on the container and mix. DO NOT DRINK SUPREP WITHOUT ADDING WATER. Drink the entirety of the mixture.
Over the next hour, drink two 16-ounce containers of water. This step is important, as it keeps you hydrated and helps the solution cleanse your colon better.
8:30 pm, take 1 Zofran tablet (optional).
9:00 pm, pour the last bottle of solution into the mixing container. Add cold water to the 16-ounce line on the container and mix. Drink whole mixture.
Over the next hour, drink two 16-ounce containers of water.
1:00 am, if you are still awake, take 1 Zofran tablet (optional).
IMPORTANT! Please perform COMPLETE FASTING after 1:00 am. (no sips of water, gum, or hard candy).

If your procedure is AFTER 10:30 AM:

6:30 pm, take 1 Zofran tablet (optional).
7:00 pm, pour one bottle of solution into the mixing container. Add cold water to the 16-ounce line on the container and mix. DO NOT DRINK SUPREP WITHOUT ADDING WATER. Drink the entirety of the mixture.
Over the next hour, drink two 16-ounce containers of water. This step is important, as it keeps you hydrated and helps the solution cleanse your colon better.
10:30 pm, take 1 Zofran tablet (optional).
3:30 am, take 1 Zofran tablet (optional).
4:00 am, pour the last bottle of solution into the mixing container. Add cold water to the 16-ounce line on the container and mix. Drink whole mixture.
Over the next hour, drink two 16-ounce containers of water.
IMPORTANT! Please perform COMPLETE FASTING after 5:00 am (no sips of water, gum, or hard candy).

Approximately 1 hour after the last tablet is ingested, fill the provided container again with 16 ounces of water (to the fill line) and drink the entire amount over 30 minutes.
Approximately 30 minutes after finishing the second container of water, fill the container again with 16 ounces of water and drink over 30 minutes. This step is important, as it keeps you hydrated and helps the solution cleanse your colon better.
8:30 pm, take 1 Zofran tablet (optional).
9:00 pm, repeat the instructions from above again (12 more tabs and 3 containers of water.)
1:00 am, if you are still awake, take 1 Zofran tablet (optional).
IMPORTANT! Please perform COMPLETE FASTING after 1:00 am. (no sips of water, gum, or hard candy).

If your procedure is AFTER 10:30 AM:

6:30 pm, take 1 Zofran tablet (optional).
