Day of Colonoscopy

When it comes time for your colonoscopy, follow these day-of instructions to make your experience as seamless as possible.

Day of Procedure

Colonoscopy procedures are performed at on the main hospital campus at St. John's Health. Please check-in at Outpatient Services Department (OPS) at 625 E Broadway in Jackson, WY.

• Please note, your appointment time may change due to the operating room schedule and any emergencies that may occur.
• The OPS dept. is located through the main entrance (West side) of the hospital. You will walk straight past the front desk and the OPS dept. They are located down the hallway on the right. You will need to arrive one hour prior to your confirmed time.
• Please refrain from taking your morning medications until after your procedure unless otherwise directed by your surgeon or anesthesia.
• Please leave all jewelry at home, as it is not allowed in the procedure area.
• Refrain from wearing contacts until after the procedure is completed, as they are not allowed during your procedure.
• You will need a ride home due to the IV sedation medications used. It is unsafe to drive, operate heavy equipment, or work the day of your procedure. You can resume all normal activity the very next day.
