Low Fiber Diet & Medication

A low fiber/low residue diet consists of avoiding foods high in fiber such as nuts, seeds, granola, and whole grain. Below is a list of options to help you while preparing for your diet change 4 days prior to your procedure. Following these guidelines to the best of your ability allows for an easier and more effective prep.

Note: please notify your doctor's office if you have had barium (oral or enema) within 1 week of your procedure. If you have, you will need to reschedule your procedure.

Blood Thinners

Some medications and supplements are known to increase the risk of bleeding and should be avoided prior to your procedure. If you take any of these medications, talk with your surgeon and prescribing physician regarding if it is appropriate to hold them prior to your procedure.
