What Is the philosophy of care?

Our philosophy is rooted in the principles of The Eden Alternative®, an international, non-profit 501(c)3 organization dedicated to creating quality of life for elders and their care partners. It asserts that even though we live in a culture that views aging as a period of decline, that life should always be about continuing to grow, no matter how old we are or what challenges we face. This philosophy celebrates individuals at every age and stage of life as they explore, garden, grow, and live.

The Eden Alternative affirms that care is a collaborative partnership. In fact, all caregivers and care receivers are described as “care partners.” Together, they work as a team to enhance wellbeing by alleviating feelings of loneliness, helplessness, and boredom. Care partners receive ongoing, specialized training to learn how to connect with and support people living with dementia.

What Does the Lifestyle look like?

Our community involves connected relationships, the outdoors, plants, and animals throughout the journey. Your loved one will quickly find connection, security, and support at Sage Living. Residents find rhythm and connection through practicing and appreciating various arts. These include interacting with our full-time, certified Music Therapist, creating delicious meals with our chef, or finding unique ways to express themselves creatively even if words fail them. We provide each community member with a personalized experience fit for their hearts, minds, and spirits, too.
